Barrage Pool Rules:

First, second, and third teams of Pools A & B qualify directly into the quarterfinals. The first classified teams of Pools C, D, and E will form Pool F. Teams classified third in Pools C, D, and E will form Pool G.

Barrages: The last classified team of Pool B meets the first classified team in Pool F. The last classified team of Pool A meets the second classified team of Pool F. The first and second ranked teams in Pool G will play games for the classification from the 9° to 16° place. The team classified third in Pool G will participate in the Round Robin for the 17° to the 19° place.

The teams defeated in the barrages and the teams classified 2°, 3°, and 4° of the Pools C, D, and E will meet for the placement games from 9° to 19°.
